JAH4WW Project in West Texas
White Sands Construction, Inc. Empowers Injured Veterans
At White Sands Construction, Inc., we take immense pride in partnering with Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors (JAH4WW), a nonprofit dedicated to uplifting America’s injured veterans. JAH4WW was established in 2009 with a profound mission—to design and build custom, mortgage-free homes for critically wounded veterans returning from service. These specially adapted homes address unique physical needs and provide an environment of dignity, freedom, and renewed independence.
Transforming Lives Through Accessible Home Design
The JAH4WW initiative goes beyond providing a roof over veterans’ heads. It’s about creating a sanctuary for recovery, growth, and family connection. Each home has thoughtful features like zero-threshold doorways, roll-in showers, and low-counter heights, ensuring veterans can live confidently and safely. This effort is a tangible way to honor their sacrifices while easing the daily challenges they may face.
Our Role in Building a Brighter Future for Veterans
White Sands Construction, Inc. is honored to contribute our expertise and resources to this noble cause. Our upcoming home project in El Paso, TX, showcases our dedication to giving back to those who have given so much for our country. Collaborating with skilled local partners, contractors, and suppliers, our team is committed to constructing a home that meets the highest standards of accessibility and comfort.
We employ innovative building techniques that prioritize safety and usability, creating a home tailored to the needs of a deserving veteran. This project will provide the recipient with functional spaces for therapy, relaxation, and family life, fostering renewed hope and independence.
Sgt. Saul Monroy: Marine Hero's Fight for Accessibility in El Paso
Sgt. Saul Monroy's story is a testament to unwavering resolve. Driven by a profound sense of duty post-9/11, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 2006, rapidly becoming a key recon team member. His journey took a devastating turn in Afghanistan in October 2010, when an IED explosion cost him his left leg. Yet, even amidst the chaos, Monroy's courage shone; he secured his team during a three-hour firefight, his broken rifle taped to his injured leg.
His subsequent nine months of grueling recovery didn't dim his spirit. Instead, he channeled his experience into aiding fellow amputees and joined the USA Patriots amputee softball team. The birth of his son in 2013 fueled his desire for independence, a challenge in his current inaccessible apartment. A fully accessible home in El Paso, TX, would revolutionize his life, fostering better therapy, security, and community engagement.

The impact of such a thoughtfully designed home extends well beyond its walls. We believe this project is only possible with community support at White Sands Construction, Inc.. “Without your thoughtfulness and generosity, we would have never had the convenience of actually standing under our vehicles to maintain and do daily checks on them.” - Vigial R.
